Hillsboro Memorial Gardens has served the Brandon, Florida, community for half a century. Founded, developed and designed by the Farr family in 1968, the 45-acre cemetery offers many burial and cremation interment options for families of all faiths, religions and backgrounds. Prior to the Farr family, Hillsboro Memorial Gardens was owned by the county - its first burial took place in 1922. Unlike many cemeteries in Florida, which are typically landscaped with tropical plants and palm trees, Hillsboro Memorial Gardens has many impressive and stately Florida oak trees. Founders Joseph and Helen Farr did not want Hillsboro to have the typical Florida look, so they also planted the oak trees. Additionally, our 45-acre cemetery has more than a dozen gardens throughout the property. We're also home to multiple families of sandhill cranes, which live here year-round.
