Earlham Cemetery - Richmond

Earlham Cemetery, founded in 1861, is a historic burial site located on 1101 National Road West in Richmond, Indiana, near Earlham College. Initially established to serve the community's growing needs, it became a corporation in 1863. This cemetery spans approximately 140 acres, with an additional 160 acres available for future development. Over the years, it has added special sections, such as the "Soldier's Field," which served as a veterans' burial ground until the 1950s. In 1992, a new “Veteran's Field of Honor” was created to continue honoring military service members. The cemetery also includes a chapel and mausoleum, completed in 1977, to provide a variety of memorial options for the community.

Today, Earlham Cemetery operates alongside Glen Haven Memorial Gardens and Lutherania Cemetery, all under the management of Earlham Cemetery, Inc. Known for its serene landscaping, it is an enduring symbol of Richmond's local heritage and historical preservation efforts.
