Collection: Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park - Costa Mesa

Harbor Rest Memorial Park was founded in the 1950s by the Flanagan family. Harbor Lawn Mortuary was built on the cemetery property in 1978. To celebrate the expansion, Ronald Reagan, California’s 33rd governor and later the 40th president of the United States, raised the flag that flies at the entrance. Reagan was the keynote speaker at the cemetery's annual Memorial Day service that year.

Mt. Olive Cemetery was established in the 1960s to serve the Jewish communities of Orange County and Long Beach. Several temples have since dedicated their own areas of the cemetery. Today, Harbor Rest Memorial Park and Mt. Olive Cemetery operate as a single cemetery: Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
