Highland Park has a rich history in Wyandotte County and is the resting place for senators, judges, Medal of Honor recipients, professional athletes, and thousands of others over the last century. The Highland Park Cemetery Association was established in 1905. Designed by renowned landscape architect, Sidney Hare, Highland Park was the first cemetery in Wyandotte County to embrace the idea that a cemetery could be more than just a burial ground. With its rolling hills, shade trees, and park-like setting people came from miles to visit their loved ones and stroll through the Highland Park.
