The first burial recorded was Bettie Fant Boyce in 1877. Notable features include towering pine trees lining the roads and entrances, as well as a variety of memorial styles, from elaborate family plots to memorial sculptures and a mausoleum. Additionally, the cemetery is home to a dedicated veterans section, with graves dating from the Spanish-American War through Vietnam​.

The cemetery is also known for its rich history and unique cultural markers, reflecting the community's heritage.
