Collection: Old Mission Wichita Park Cemetery - Wichita
Old Mission Wichita Park has just over 78 acres and is located north of Wichita State University, with the cemetery entrance on Hillside. The first burials took place in the early 1900s.
Some of the garden features of Old Mission Wichita Park include a lifesize statue of husband and wife in the Garden of Love, praying hands in the Garden of Prayer, in the Garden of Last Supper that is a reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci's world famous Last Supper. More prominent features in Old Mission Cemetery include the historic Old Mission mausoleum, which was constructed in the early 1920s, and the Mission Chapel Mausoleum, which was constructed in the 1960s and is well known for it's high peaked foyer and chapel area.
We believe that a cemetery should create an atmosphere symbolic of a happy eternal life. In trying to accomplish this, we have combined statuary, sculpture and landscaping.
